Decoden Workshops in Danville — 3D Charms, Gems & Cases

Japan's most maximalist craft: pipe 'whipped cream' deco, press in gems and stack 3D charms until your phone case, mirror or trinket box is gloriously over the top. A runaway hit with tweens, teens and birthday crews — and grown-ups who never outgrew sparkle.

★ 4.9 on Google · From $20 · All materials included · Beginner-friendly

Decoden started on Japanese phone cases and grew into a whole aesthetic: cover an everyday object in rhinestones, bows, resin charms and piped 'whipped-cream' deco until it's lavishly, joyfully extra. No drawing skill required — if you can frost a cupcake, you can decoden — which makes it one of the most requested workshops at our Danville studio on Camino Tassajara.

The Deco Dream experience is just $25 (and the Patch Party only $20), so it works as an easy first visit for kids, a craft night for adults, or a group activity for tween and teen birthday parties, troops and friend groups coming over from San Ramon, Alamo and Blackhawk.

Questions guests ask

Decoden in Danville — FAQ

What is decoden?

Decoden is a Japanese decorating craft where you cover an object — classically a phone case — with rhinestones, bows, 3D resin charms and piped 'whipped-cream' deco for a lavish, maximalist look. It's completely beginner-friendly: no drawing or painting skill needed.

What can I decorate at a decoden workshop in Danville?

Guest favorites include phone cases, trinket and jewelry boxes, compact mirrors, hair clips, keychains and charms. We supply the base piece plus a big spread of gems, charms and deco cream — you just pick a piece and start piling it on.

Is decoden good for a tween or teen birthday party?

It's one of the most requested activities for tween and teen parties at our Danville studio — low pressure, high sparkle, and every guest leaves with something they'll actually use. See our kids birthday parties in Danville page for hosted party packages.

How much does decoden cost and how long does it take?

The Deco Dream experience is $25 per person and runs about 60 minutes, with all materials included. The Patch Party is $20 per person. Both finish same-day, so your creation goes home with you.

What's the difference between Deco Dream and the Patch Party?

Deco Dream ($25) is classic decoden — gems, charms and whipped-cream deco piled onto a case, box or mirror. The Patch Party ($20) is our fastest craft: choose from a wall of iron-on patches and style your own wearable piece. Groups often mix both at the same table.

Do adults enjoy decoden too?

Absolutely — plenty of adults book it solo or with friends purely for the fun of an unapologetically maximalist craft. It also makes an easy add-on to a girls' night or a relaxed weekend visit.
